!cue.highlight

Marks a run of words in a paragraph, heading or list on the canvas: when in fires, a wash is drawn across the words, and at out it is drawn back the way it came. Plain words take the highlight’s text colour while they are marked; words already coloured with a colour micronode keep theirs. The inline form of cue.highlight, for pointing at a phrase rather than a whole mark. Presence is untouched, so the words are there before and after. Canvas-only: written in a scene’s narrative, it is a compile error. in is the implicit attribute, so !cue.h:2{the gradient} marks the words from step 2 to the end of the scene. In a table cell, a caption or a mark’s label the words are shown without the mark.
