Reporting content
Every internote and map carries a Report action in its sidebar. It reaches the moderation queue directly, which makes it the fastest route for anything urgent.
#How to report something
Open the internote or map and use Report in its sidebar. Choose the reason that fits and add anything the moderation team should know — what you saw, and where in the document it is, if that is not obvious.
Reports work whether or not you are signed in. If you are signed out, the form asks for a name and an email address so the outcome can reach you.
#The six reasons
The reason picker offers:
- Inappropriate Content
- Spam
- Misinformation
- Plagiarism / Copyright
- Harassment
- Other
Pick the closest one and put the specifics in Additional details. The reason routes the report; the details are what the moderation team actually acts on, so a report under Other with nothing written in it is the hardest kind to do anything about.
#Where a report goes
Straight to a queue the moderation team reviews. It does not pass through general support, which is why it is the right route for anything that needs acting on quickly.
If you have an account, the outcome reaches you through the Reports & support notification category — see Notifications.
#What Report is not for
Something broken, a question about how a feature works, or a problem with your own account is a support matter rather than a moderation one. Contact support for those, and they reach the right queue.
