Finding things
Explore holds everything published across Internote by everyone. Four ways to narrow it, and four ways to order what is left.
#Subjects and subtopics
Explore opens on everything public. The chips along the top are the fifteen subjects — Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Data Science, Economics, Finance, History, Politics, Music, Philosophy, Literature, Geography and Language — plus Other for work that does not sit in any of them.
Each subject expands into its own subtopics, so you can narrow from a whole field to the part of it you actually want. You can also search titles and descriptions directly, which is the faster route when you know roughly what the thing is called.
#Sorting
- Most Recent
- Newest first. The default, and the right one for seeing what is being written now.
- Most Liked
- Ordered by readers marking work Helpful. This is the closest thing to a recommendation the platform has.
- Most Viewed
- Ordered by opens. Popular is not the same as good, but it is a reasonable proxy for “other people found this worth reading”.
- Title (A–Z)
- Alphabetical. Useful when you are looking for something specific in a long list.
#Filters
- Filter to only Internotes or only Maps when you want one kind of thing — a map if you want a whole path, an internote if you want one answer.
- Lessons narrows to internotes their authors marked as structured teaching material. Turn it on when you want to be taught something rather than shown it.
- Reset clears every active filter, sort and search at once.
#Once you have found something
The controls in the sidebar of any internote or map are how you keep it. Bookmark saves it to your library and offers a colour. Rate records Helpful or Not helpful. Share passes it on, and Fork takes your own copy of a published internote to build on.
