Account and preferences
Everything about your account lives under Preferences, in six tabs that each save on their own.
#The six tabs
- Profile
- Your picture, your names, your display name and the personal details Internote keeps. Picture uploads take effect immediately; the rest saves when you press Save.
- Personalisation
- Your subject interests, which shape what you are shown around the platform.
- Sites
- The sites you belong to, and the way into the admin area of any you administer.
- Connections
- The GitHub repositories your internotes publish from — covered in Publishing from GitHub.
- Notifications
- What Internote tells you about — covered in Notifications.
- Security
- Your password and the state of your session.
Each section saves independently, so changing one thing never puts another at risk. Open Preferences.
#Resetting your password
You do not need a support ticket for this.
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password and enter your email address.
- A code arrives by email.
- Enter it with a new password, and you are signed back in.
#Your email address
Your email identifies your account. It is shown under Profile but is not editable there, because changing the thing that identifies an account is not a settings-panel operation. If it needs to change, contact support.
#Billing
There is none. Internote is free during the private beta — no plan to choose, no card to add, nothing to cancel. If paid plans arrive for your account, Internote will say so before anything changes.
Anything about access that the reset flow cannot fix — an email that needs changing, or an account you cannot reach at all — is worth writing in about. Everything else on this page you can do yourself, faster.
